Yoder's Applied Practice was established in 2022, it is not traditional training program but instead utilizes the science of applied behaviorism to establish conditions to capture the learners strengths and build upon them. Guiding behavior with tailored, incremental steps based on the learner's comfort and ability.

This force-free approach focuses on positive methods to give the learner-human or animal- control and choice.

It creates opportunities to increase or decrease specific behaviors. By using positive reinforcement, it aims to improve learning and behavior, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for the learner and their support system.

- What our Clients are saying -

"The parent collaboration sessions with Melanie are very informative, encouraging, and nonjudgmental.  She is skilled at helping me break down and understand the behaviors that I am trying to address with my son.  I appreciate her ability to quickly identify and share resources with me.  This collaboration has provided me with another tool in the parent toolkit, and a valuable tool at that!"

"When we adopted our dog, Trinity, she had been at the shelter for 10 long months. She was fearful of new people, especially men. Melanie worked with us to help with Trinity’s trust issues, reactivity and general training. She was awesome answering our MANY questions and providing personalized instruction at our home and through consultation. In addition, she promptly provided thorough written feedback and recommendations.  She continues to stay in touch just because of who she is and her caring personality! We love, love, love our Trinity and can’t thank Melanie enough for her support to our family!"

"Recently I had the opportunity to work with Melanie as a consultant helping me with my dog's problematic behavior.  Because of his insecurities he barked and jumped on visitors and appeared threatening when they entered. Initially, a phone consultation helped Melanie and I set up a plan.  Then, she followed it with productive in home sessions.  After each interaction with Melanie I received notes which helped me reflect on our sessions and focus on how to move forward. Ultimately, with her expertise and guidance, we are now able to have appropriate interactions between my dog and my friends.  Melanie's philosophy which focused on consistent and positive reinforcement, and coupled with a plan that was logical and doable, made such a difference in my dog's behaviors and my relationship with him.  I no longer worry about friends coming over.  The discomforts this once caused my dog and my friends has greatly diminished!  I would highly recommend working with Melanie in her capacity as an behaviorist expert.  She has helped make such a positive impact on my dog Blue's life."
